I love using Kodiak Cakes mixes as a base for my baked goods, because it makes baking SO EASY! Using these mixes to get a good foundation for each recipe saves me time, cuts expense, and tastes AMAZING. These donuts were super easy to make, and only take 10 minutes to bake. With only 60 calories PER DONUT, you can indulge a little and give in to your chocolate craving, without loading up on sugar and carbs. Each donut contains just 1.5 grams of sugar, compared to the 20 grams packed in to your average chocolate glazed donut. Check out the recipe below:
- 1/2 cup Kodiak Cakes Dark Chocolate Flapjack and Waffle Mix
- 1/2 scoop Quest Nutrition Cookies & Cream Protein Powder
- 1 tablespoon Betterbody Foods Organic Cacao Superfood Powder
- 3 teaspoons zero calorie sweetener (I use stevia)
- 1/4 cup egg whites
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1/3 scoop Quest Nutrition Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder
- 5 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tablespoon Walden Farms Calorie-Free Chocolate Syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 6-slot donut pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Combine Kodiak Cakes Dark Chocolate Flapjack and Waffle Mix, Quest Nutrition Cookies & Cream Protein Powder, Betterbody Foods Organic Cacao Superfood Powder, zero calorie sweetener, egg whites, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk in a medium bowl. Pour batter into greased donut pan until each slot is about 3/4 of the way full. Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out of one of the donuts clean. Remove from the oven and allow donuts to cool for about 5 minutes. Remove donuts from the pan and place them on a cooling rack for glazing.
To prepare the glaze, mix together 1/3 scoop Quest Nutrition Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder, 5 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and 1 tablespoon Walden Farms Calorie-Free Chocolate Syrup. Place a large plate underneath the cooling rack to catch excess glaze. Pour the glaze over the donuts placed on the cooling rack and allow them to sit until all the extra glaze has dripped off on to the plate placed below. Enjoy!
