New Month, New Goals: 5 Things To Work For This September

Hello September! September is one of my FAVORITE months. Who else is ready for sweater weather, football, and pumpkin spice flavored EVERYTHING? I know I am!

A new month is a GREAT time to set new goals. Goal setting is such an effective way to keep yourself motivated! I love making small goals at the beginning of each month to act as a reminder for myself to take steps every day to reach my bigger dreams and aspirations. Big or small, it's important to take the time to think about where you are, where you want to be, and how you plan to get there. Here are 5 things to work for this September:

1. Drink more water Not only does drinking enough water keep you hydrated, but it also keeps your skin glowing, keeps you energized, and flushes out toxins from your body. Try adding lemon or some frozen raspberries and blueberries to your bottle for an extra boost of flavor and antioxidants!

2. Spend more time outside

Fall weather is my absolute favorite! Leaves begin to change, temperatures are comfortable (and perfect for a super cute, comfy sweater!), and the air is fresh and crisp. Try taking a walk outside before class or work in the morning, taking your homework outside, or finding a good tree to read your favorite book under. Bring on that fresh, autumn air!

3. Eat more REAL foods

Some of the most delicious fruits and veggies are coming in to season! (Apples and sweet potatoes being my personal favorites) Try mixing 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats, 1 teaspoon stevia, 1/2 teaspoon maple extract, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 tablespoons Walden Farms Calorie Free Pancake Syrup, and 1/2 cup chopped apple in a large bowl and microwaving for 3 minutes for a warm, cinnamon apple treat!

4. Don't sweat the small stuff

You know what they say: Don't worry, be happy! Know that although the adversity and obstacles may come your way this month, everything happens for a reason. Jeremiah 29:11 says:

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

5. Give more compliments

Sometimes, just a simple compliment can make someone's entire day. Spread words of kindness and empower others by trying to give AT LEAST one compliment to someone every day this month. You never know how your words may impact and inspire a complete stranger!
