Glitter + Goals: Tips for Setting Your New Years Resolutions

Only THREE days left in 2016?! This year has truly flown by. 2016 has taught me so much about myself as a person, my goals, and the things I value and aspire to achieve in life. When I think about it, I can hardly believe how much I have learned in such a short time period. A LOT can happen in one year - which makes me even more excited for 2017!

 

I am a huge fan of setting MULTIPLE New Years resolutions for myself. After all, a year is a long time; so there is plenty of time to achieve any goal.

 

Most of the time, a New Year's resolution may look something like "I want to lose ___ pounds." And there is nothing wrong with setting that goal for yourself, but I want to focus on resolutions that aren't dictated by a certain number on the scale.

Healthy New Years Resolutions for 2017:

1. Exercise more

2. Practice gratitude

3. Eat more fruits and vegetables

4. Spend less time online and more time connecting with those around you

5. Worry less

6. Keep a journal

7. Give more compliments

8. Be more positive

9. Volunteer more

10. Write a book

11. Travel somewhere new

12. Be more patient

13. Have greater faith and confidence in yourself AND in your abilities

Sticking to a New Years resolution takes discipline, but in the end it is always worth it. A new year brings a fresh start and an opportunity to better yourself as a person. The possibilities are truly endless when you think about how far hard work alone can take you in life.

I am loving the over-the-knee boots trend this season; and these Steve Maddens caught my eye at Dillard's! They have a wider based heel, making them easier to walk in and more comfortable than a skinny heel. I am 5'10" and I have always struggled finding boots tall enough to actually cover my knees, but these finally hit the perfect spot right above my knee caps. #TallGirlProbs
