My first REAL YouTube video is LIVE! I had so much fun filming this step by step recipe video. I can definitely say I will be making more like this in the future! My YouTube channel will be kind of like an extension of my blog.. only in video form! I will be sharing healthy recipes, workouts, lifestyle and wellness tips - really anything that has to do with living an active, healthy lifestyle. So, since it was my first video I HAD to make one of my favorite treats - a SMOOTHIE.
The main reason I love smoothies: they remind me of a milkshake (and I LOVE ice cream).
Plus, there are so many different flavor combos you can whip up, it makes it nearly impossible to get bored or in a "rut" with smoothies. They make it super easy to throw in hidden veggies like spinach without even noticing it is there. I usually drink a smoothie before I work out in the morning because I like to work out on a light breakfast and then eat my heavier meal after I am finished. I ALWAYS include protein powder in my smoothies (because it makes it taste even MORE like a milkshake).

This smoothie uses avocados to get its creamy, thick texture. A lot of people like to use bananas in their smoothies for this same reason, but bananas are fairly high in sugar and carbs. Avocados are a great source of healthy fats and provide the same texture in my smoothies as bananas do, so lately I have been using them instead.
I honestly thought about naming this smoothie the "Green Goddess" smoothie because of all of the GREEN fruits and veggies that are packed inside! Avocados, spinach, green apples, and a Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens Blend give this sweet treat its vibrant color. The greener the better, right?!
