Healthy chips and salsa?! Yes, please! The perfect clean-eating summertime snack to help demolish an afternoon craving. The fruit in this salsa recipe gives it a sweet flavor that tastes absolutely delicious with these easy to make, guilt-free tortilla chips.
This salsa has three of my absolute favorite things in it: strawberries, mangos, and avocados! I am secretly an avocado addict - I love to mix chopped avocado into my salads, eat them with some scrambled egg whites in the morning, or even just eat half of one plain with a spoon for a satisfying afternoon hunger killer.
Avocados are LOADED with healthy fats. They are super nutrient dense and high in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs; a heart healthy fat), high in fiber, good for your skin, and easy to incorporate into your diet every day. Honestly, avocados are my go-to source of healthy fats. I try to eat a healthy fat with every meal because doing so keeps me full and satisfied for SO much longer afterwards than if I were to skip the fats.
This salsa is the perfect combination of bright, vibrant, nutritious fruits and veggies to nourish and refresh the body from the inside out. I like to think of this recipe as my "Superfood Salsa" because of all of the incredible superfoods inside! It is easy to mix up and store in the refrigerator for a few days for easy snacking.

Now, I know what you're thinking: no one wants to eat salsa without chips, right?! No worries: I've got you covered.
We all love some good, crunchy, salty tortilla chips dipped in fresh salsa. But for me, salty, processed tortilla chips don't exactly align with my fitness goals. They are very carb heavy and I try to follow a low-carb/high-fat diet. When I am picking out carb options, I always opt for things like oatmeal, high fiber tortillas and cereals, granolas that are low in sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, etc. Generally choices that are whole grain, high fiber, and are the least processed as possible.
When I set out to create a healthy tortilla chip, I knew Mission's Carb Balance Whole Wheat Tortillas would be the perfect option to bake into a crisp, crunchy, and delicious chip I could dip in this healthy summertime salsa.
These tortillas have 4 grams of NET CARBS. Net carbs are calculated by taking the total amount of carbs (in this case 19g) and subtracting out the grams of fiber and sugar alcohols (in this case 15g of fiber). This is because fiber and sugar alcohols are thought to have a minimal affect on your blood sugar level, which will help you avoid that "sugar high" followed by a crash sometimes accompanied with eating foods that are extra carb heavy (think: the sleepy feeling you get after a big bowl of macaroni or pasta).
So, when you put this Strawberry Mango Salsa with these guilt-free tortilla chips, what do you have? A DELICIOUS, nutritious, power-up snack! Check out the recipe video below.
