How to Make Healthy Nutella Using an Avocado

Avocados are one of my favorite healthy baking substitutes because of the creamy texture they give almost ANYTHING! I was making avocado toast the other day and thought, "I should mix cocoa powder in this - I bet it would taste like Nutella."

 

So, here we are: with a HEALTHY Nutella Avocado Spread!

 

I love chocolate. Especially in the mornings, I love to start my day off with something sweet. Avocado toast is one of my favorite breakfasts and snacks, but it is usually more of a savory treat rather than sweet.

 

UNTIL NOW! I am a firm believer that you can add chocolate to pretty much anything and it will taste good... Okay so maybe not ANYTHING - but most things.

 

Avocados are pretty much flavorless when you mix them with another strong flavor. Cocoa powder has a very bitter taste naturally, so I added stevia (a plant based sweetener) to this spread to sweeten things up a bit.

 

 

An optional addition to this recipe (but I did add it, and I included it in the nutrition facts) is 1/2 a scoop of collagen peptides. I have been OBSESSED with collagen lately. I use Further Food's flavorless powder and I like to mix it in to my protein shakes every morning. It blends perfectly with this spread and is a great way to get some extra protein in any recipe. Collagen is also super good for your hair, skin, feeling of satisfaction, and even helps with muscle repair.
