These Double Chocolate Fudge Protein Truffles were one of the recipes included in the guide, but I wanted to share about them in a blog post too because they are to DIE for. And: they are only 33 calories each. Um, yes please!
I know the holidays can be tough when it comes to making healthy choices and sticking to a clean diet, I do believe in balance and allowing yourself to indulge a little bit on the foods you love. After all, Christmas only comes once a year - so don't pass up your Grandma's favorite homemade Christmas cookies because you are afraid of "gaining weight." The reality is: ONE Christmas cookie is not going to make you gain weight. However: 8 Christmas cookies every day for a week might. Everything in moderation!
I am always THAT family member that brings the protein balls and veggie tray to family Christmas. It makes a WORLD of a difference just to have healthy options readily available at a big dinner gathering. These Double Chocolate Fudge Protein Truffles are the perfect healthy holiday dessert option because 1. they taste just as good as a regular fudge ball and 2. they are made from clean, simple ingredients and are MUCH lower in calories, fat, and sugar than the originals.
These truffles use powdered peanut butter in place of regular creamy peanut butter. I use a lot of powdered peanut butter in my recipes because it is 1/3 of the calories and fat in regular peanut butter, but still tastes delicious! One of the best things about these truffles: they only take 15 minutes to make. They are seriously SO easy. Pretty much all you have to do is throw the ingredients in a bowl, mix them up, and roll them into balls. That's it!
