Healthy Double Chocolate Kiss Cookies | Only FIVE Ingredients
Oh HELLO Healthy Double Chocolate Kiss Cookies! These delicious, simple treats are only FIVE ingredients and so easy to make. I have a huge sweet tooth and chocolate is my absolute favorite dessert flavor (I mean who doesn't love chocolate), so these are one of my go-to ways to cheat clean!
This recipe was one of the desserts in the 12 Days of Toning Guide. I LOVE making these cookies during the holidays because they taste just as good as any other decadent cookie, but they are made with simpler ingredients, high in protein, and have no added refined sugar (other than the dark chocolate kiss on top, which can be omitted).
If you decide to make these WITHOUT the dark chocolate kiss on top, they are just as delicious AND they are gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. I use cocoa powder and stevia together in a lot of my recipes to get a rich, chocolatey flavor without the loads of sugar and fat that come along with processed chocolate. Cocoa powder is rich in flavonoids and high in fiber - making it one of the best superfoods you can add in to your smoothies, oatmeal, and COOKIES like these!
This recipe says it makes nine cookies, but they are nine HUGE cookies. You can make them smaller if you want a less calorie dense cookie. The main ingredient in these cookies is creamy natural peanut butter. Peanut butter is a GREAT source of healthy fats but the calories in things like nut butters, mixed nuts, avocados, etc. can add up pretty quickly. I eat peanut butter every day - but it is important to remember portion control with foods like this to make sure you don't accidentally end up eating three times the serving size.
