The Four Athleisure Pieces You Need In Your Summer Wardrobe

Let's be honest: if you had to pick between athleisure and literally any other kind of clothes to wear for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

That's what I thought. Athleisure is CUTE, it's COMFY, and 99% of the time it can be worn from the boxing gym to brunch (as long as you're not drenched in sweat). The trend is exploding and more and more designers are starting to make activewear that is fashion-forward, practical, and versatile. If you were to say the word "athleisure" to someone ten years ago, they probably would have looked at you like you were crazy - that's because the word was actually just added to the dictionary about two years ago.

I actually don't remember the last time I didn't wear athleisure at SOME POINT during any given day. Whether it may be for a workout, to run errands, or even to go shopping with friends, athleisure tends to be my go-to style. SO: here are a few of my favorite recent finds - aka athleisure pieces you NEED in your summer wardrobe.

1. The Fabletics VICAR set

You can't go wrong with all-black athleisure. This VICAR set by Fabletics has high waisted leggings with lace/mesh detail at the bottom and a cap sleeve crop bra that pulls together a functional yet classic look. I wore this outfit to pilates AND a cardio dance class and had no problem moving in it.

2. Adidas NEO Cloudfoam QT Racers

Okay, so in all honesty I bought these Adidas Cloudform QT Racer shoes because they are blush pink (obsessed). But once I wore them around I for awhile I fell IN LOVE with their fit and comfort level. They have a "cloudfoam liner" that literally makes it feel like you are stepping on clouds every time your shoe hits the ground. I may be partial to the blush pink because it's a SUPER trendy color right now, but these also come in black, grey, navy, olive, coral, red, and white. If you've been looking for a street-style shoe to complete any casual athleisure look - your search ends here.

3. Fabletics Powerhold High-Waisted Leggings

It. is. HARD. I repeat: HARD to find a good pair of high-waisted leggings that actually fit right. I have always struggled to find a pair that actually comes up high enough to hit my torso mid-ribcage. The Fabletics Powerhold High Waisted Leggings have a thicker waistband for maximum hold during any activity, are breathable and lightweight, and come in countless colors and patterns. I always prefer high-waisted leggings over low rise and this is my go-to style.

4. Mini Velvet Backpack

This Velvet Mini Backpack might actually be my favorite item on the list. Why? Because I literally got it at Walmart for LESS THAN $20.

Now THAT is a steal.

I bought it in a pinch when I needed a convenient, small bag to bring with me on a flight and it ended up being one of the best purchases ever.

I am not even exaggerating when I say this thing is the definition of versatile. I carry it everywhere - to the gym, to work, and even to brunch. It's super easy to dress up or dress down and it comes in black, grey, and maroon in-store. Definitely worth the $19.
